1st furniture factory in Brazil to obtain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate, in 1997. - 1st furniture factory in Latin America to operate with an Environmental Management System (EMS) certified to ISO 14001, formalizing its commitment to environmental protection since 2001. - 100% MDP and MDF, the main raw materials used at Florense, are sourced from FSC-certified suppliers, supporting responsible forest management of the raw material. - 100% of MDP/MDF panels, Florense's main raw material, have the international CARB certification. This standard controls emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from products that emit formaldehyde. - 100% Of the electricity consumed in Florense's industrial processes has come from renewable and clean sources since 2013. - 505 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions were avoided by using electricity from clean sources in 2023. - 500 Sodium/mercury vapor lights have been replaced with LED technology in 2023, providing greater energy efficiency and promoting safety in the work environment. - 4,000 kWh were produced by Florense Brands in 2023, generated by the photovoltaic solar energy system installed to reinforce/corroborate the Group's progress towards sustainability. - 100% of the fuel used in the boiler to generate the thermal energy essential to the production process is made up of sawdust residues and MDP and MDF waste. This practice makes it possible to avoid the consumption of natural resources and polluting fossil fuels, thus contributing to the reduction of pollution and climate change. - 100% of the sanitary and industrial effluents generated in 2023 were treated and returned to the environment in a non-harmful quality. - 100% of MDP/MDF, aluminum and glass waste, the main raw materials in the Florense Group's production process, were reused or recycled in 2023, contributing to the circular economy. - 77% of the total solid waste generated was sent for recycling in 2023, showing an increase compared to the previous year, when it was 64%. The practice of recycling modifies its physical, chemical and/or biological properties, thus enabling its use as raw material in other applications. - 446 tons of our product packaging was compensated through reverse logistics in 2023, supporting waste picker cooperatives and ensuring environmentally sound disposal, as well as promoting the reintroduction of these materials into the production cycle. - 21% of solid waste, consisting exclusively of hazardous waste, is destined for co-processing, a technique in which this waste is used as fuel in cement production kilns, a process that does not generate any environmental liabilities. - Zero disposal of solid waste in industrial landfills in 2023.
